NOPD has arrested two men in connection with a homicide that occurred at the intersection of Gravier Street and Loyola Avenue yesterday morning (October 8, 2025).

At about 7:42 a.m., Eighth District officers were called by Tulane Police about a man down at the location. EMS arrived and pronounced the unknown adult male deceased on scene.

Investigators say the victim was reportedly involved in a fight with several individuals before he was observed on the ground.

The initial designation for an unclassified death was then changed to homicide at approximately 12:30 p.m. on the date.

Through investigation, detectives identified two subjects involved in the fight with the victim. Both have been arrested and charged with manslaughter.  They are Aaron Brown, Black male, DOB: 03/30/1990, and Mason Rucker, Black male, DOB: 12/19/1993.

Both will be booked accordingly into the Orleans Justice Center.

The Orleans Parish Coroner will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death and identify the victim pending notification of family members.
