Person of Interest Sought for Questioning in 2021 Eighth District Attempted Murder

The NOPD is requesting the public’s assistance in locating and identifying a person of interest for questioning in the ongoing investigation of an attempted murder incident that occurred on December 14, 2021, in the 3300 block of Canal Street.

In this incident, the victim and perpetrator were engaged in a brief argument before the perpetrator shot the victim in the neck at close range, resulting in partial but permanent paralysis to the victim.

Through investigation, NOPD First District detectives have developed the pictured unknown black male subject as a person of interest in this case. The subject is not currently wanted on criminal charges in this investigation. However, detective feel he may have knowledge of information vital to the investigation and wish to interview him.
