The NOPD is investigating a traffic fatality this evening (October 28, 2021) at the intersection of Loyola Avenue and Earhart Boulevard.
At about 7:39 p.m., NOPD Sixth District officers responded to a call of a vehicle accident with injury at the location. Upon arrival and investigation, detectives determined that an adult male was attempting to cross the westbound lanes of Earhart Boulevard on foot when a delivery truck traveling westbound struck the victim. The victim was transported to a local hospital but was declared deceased en route. The driver of the delivery truck remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
The Orleans Parish Coroner will officially identify the victim in this incident and determine official cause of death, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
