The NOPD is investigating a traffic fatality that occurred in the early hours today (October 22, 2020) on Interstate 510 North near Lake Forest Boulevard.
At about 12:01 a.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a call of a traffic crash at the location involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive male victim lying in the roadway. The victim was declared deceased at the scene.
Through investigation, detectives determined that the victim was walking in the travel lanes along I-510 North for reasons unknown when he was struck by an automobile traveling on the roadway.
The Orleans Parish Coroner will officially identify the victim in this incident upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
