The NOPD has arrested Steven Nickerson (DOB: 01-17-1990) on October 25, 2018, after he was found to be in illegal possession of a firearm.
At approximately 12:53 p,m,, Seventh District Task Force officers were on proactive patrol when they conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at I-10 West and Chef Menteur Highway. Through the course of the traffic stop, the officers learned that operator of the vehicle – later identified as Nickerson – did not have a valid driver license. Upon further investigation, officers learned that Nickerson had a firearm located inside the center console of the vehicle, of which he advised the officers. Officers learned that Nickerson was a convicted felon for a previous aggravated assault with a firearm offense and was prohibited to be in possession of a firearm. Nickerson was arrested on the scene and transported to the Orleans Parish Justice Center, where he was booked accordingly.
