Times-Picayune Editorial Board: NOPD is finally regaining the faith of New Orleans residents

On the heels of a new public perception survey that shows overall satisfaction with the NOPD at an all-time high of 64 percent, today (Oct. 12) the NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune Editorial Board published an editorial praising the department for its work to rebuild community trust. 

Citing the department's community-engagement efforts like Coffee With Cops and anti-violence marches, the Ed Board credited the department with "repairing its relationship with the community."

The community outreach continues Thursday (Oct. 13) with the first-ever "Community Engagement Night Out." Building on the NOPD’s work to create a strong community engagement and outreach plan, this night of public meetings encourages residents to come together to identify their top public safety priorities and to hear directly from their police district leadership on what can be done to address their concerns.

The meetings will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the following locations:
