NOPD is looking for a suspect wanted in connection with an armed robbery that took place on October 29, 2016.
At approximately 3 a.m. on Saturday (Oct. 29), an unknown black male was captured on surveillance video robbing the Shell gas station in the 7300 block of Read Boulevard.
The suspect is described as a black male, about 5’7” with a thin build, wearing a black hoodie, black baseball cap, dark green camouflage pants with black shoes. He had a white rag covering his face and he was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun. He was seen fleeing the scene in a silver sedan, possibly a Nissan Altima.

In Louisiana, an armed robbery conviction requires the offender to be imprisoned at hard labor for 10 – 99 years, without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. When a firearm is used in the commission of the crime, the offender will be imprisoned for an additional 5 years that will be served consecutively to the original sentence.
