Sixth District Detective Walter Edmond was named the first Bardell Co. Officer of the Month at Coffee with Cops on Saturday (Oct. 1). The Officer of the Month program recognizes NOPD officers who perform above and beyond the call of duty while on the job. As part of the recognition, the Bardell Co., a local McDonald's owner and operator, awards the winning officer with a $750 scholarship that the officer can use to participate in police training and leadership programs across the country.
Chris Bardell, the owner of the Bardell Co., is one of multiple local McDonald’s restaurant owners who partnered with the NOPD’s recruitment campaign by featuring recruitment advertisements on paper tray liners served to dine-in customers at dozens of restaurants across the New Orleans region.
