Tonight (Oct. 13), residents will have an opportunity to identify and prioritize the top public safety concerns in their neighborhoods at the department’s first-ever “Community Engagement Night Out.” Building on the NOPD’s work to create a strong community engagement and outreach plan, this night of public meetings encourages residents to come together to identify their top public safety priorities and to hear directly from their police district leadership on what can be done to address their concerns.
Police district leadership and officers will attend the meetings, but an independent facilitator will lead the meetings at each location. Participants will be asked a series of questions, and based on their feedback, the group will prioritize the top three concerns that the district should address. Following the meeting, each police district will develop a plan for how it will address the concerns and how it will update the community on the progress.
The meetings will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the following locations:
