NOPD Seeks Suspect for Armed Robbery on General DeGaulle

NOPD is looking for a suspect who robbed a Shell gas station at gunpoint this morning.

 

At approximately 12:52 a.m. today (Oct. 5), an unknown black male was observed walking into the gas station convenience store in the 3000 block of General DeGaulle Drive. The suspect produced a handgun and demanded money from the cash register. The cashier complied and the suspect fled the location in an unknown white SUV.

 

The perpetrator is described as a black male with a dark complexion and medium build. He is approximately 5’11” to 6’ tall and weighs 150-200 pounds. Photos of the suspect and the vehicle are included below.

Armed Robbery

In Louisiana, an armed robbery conviction requires the offender to be imprisoned at hard labor for 10 – 99 years, without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. When a firearm is used in the commission of the crime, the offender will be imprisoned for an additional 5 years that will be served consecutively to the original sentence.
