NOPD Seeking Vehicle Stolen in Armed Carjacking on Rue Nichole

The NOPD is seeking assistance in locating a silver 2014 Kia Optima four-door car reported stolen in an armed carjacking incident on October 2, 2016 in the 3700 block of Rue Nichole.

At about 9:25 p.m., the victim was parked in the area when an unknown subject brandished a handgun and subsequently demanded the victim exit the vehicle. The subject then entered the car and fled in an unknown direction.                    

The stolen vehicle bears Louisiana license plate #ZQV575.

Pictured below is a vehicle similar in appearance to the vehicle stolen in this incident. It is not a picture of the actual stolen vehicle.

Carjacking

Louisiana law states that Individuals convicted of carjacking shall be imprisoned at hard labor for not less than two years and for not more than 20 years, without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
