Former New Orleans Saints running back Deuce McAllister will provide the keynote address to the newest graduates of the NOPD Training Academy on Friday (Oct. 28).
More than 30 recruits will receive their diplomas in a ceremony happening at Landry-Walker College and Career Preparatory High School.
McAllister, 37, played eight seasons with Saints, and holds the all-time Saints record for most career rushing yards and touchdowns. Earlier this year, he was named WWL’s color analyst for the Saints Radio Network
McAllister also holds a degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Mississippi.
Class #176 is the tenth class to graduate from the NOPD Training Academy since 2010. Training is already underway for Class #177, which is expected to graduate later this year. Class #178 will launch on October 31.
The 2016 budget funds the hiring of 150 new officers this year.
