NOPD Arrests Suspect, Identifies Two Additional Suspects in Homicide Investigation

The NOPD has arrested Nicholas Miorana (pictured at left, black male, DOB: 12-07-1995) and has obtained arrest warrants for Daniel Miorana (pictured center, black male, DOB: 03-21-2003) and Darrell Adams (pictured at right, black male, DOB: 07-09-2001) in the investigation of a homicide that occurred earlier today (November 21, 2024) in the 700 block of Iberville Street that left one person dead and three injured by gunfire.

At about 12:21 p.m. today, a homicide by shooting occurred in the 700 block of Iberville Street. During this incident, a 27-year-old female was killed and three additional adults – a 40-year-old male, 39-year-old female and 24-year-old-male – sustained injuries from gunfire. Each of the victims was transported to a local hospital via EMS for treatment.

A short time after the incident occurred, members of NOPD’s Violent Crime Abatement Investigation Team, NOPD Special Operations Division, NOPD Homicide Section, Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division detectives and members of the FBI New Orleans Violent Crime Task Force located the perpetrators’ vehicle on the Crower Boulevard exit on Interstate 10 West. Multiple subjects found in the vehicle were detained and identified. Detectives then obtained a search warrant for the vehicle and occupants’ residence. During those searches, detectives discovered evidence in both locations directly related to the incident.

Through further investigation, NOPD Homicide Section detectives identified and obtained arrest warrants for Nicholas Miorana, Daniel Miorana and Adams, each for one count of second-degree murder and for three counts of attempted second-degree murder.

Nicholas Miorana, who was detained on scene with the suspect vehicle and subsequently arrested, was found to be wearing an ankle monitor during the commission of the offense. Daniel Miorana and Adams remain at large. In addition, Adams is also wanted by NOPD in relation to an aggravated battery by shooting incident that occurred on September 25, 2024, in the 7700 block of Dorsett Street.

No additional information is currently available. Updates will be provided as information becomes available.

The NOPD wishes to thank its law enforcement partners for their collaboration and assistance in this ongoing investigation.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
