The following is a weekly report of citywide crime statistics compiled by the NOPD Analytics Unit for the period of November 17-23, 2024.

Notable arrests made
During the listed week, the NOPD also made the following notable arrest(s):
- On November 19, the NOPD located a person of interest in its investigation of a shooting on November 17 in the 1800 block of Almonaster Avenue that left multiple people injured. The subject was arrested in connection with an unrelated crime, but is considered a person of interest in the shooting investigation, which remains open.
- On November 19, the NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad and the U.S. Marshals located and arrested a 15-year-old juvenile black male suspect in its investigation of a homicide on October 7, 2024, in the 5100 block of Bundy Road. The suspect was booked on one count of second-degree murder.
- Throughout the past week, the NOPD has arrested multiple juvenile suspects in its investigation into multiple threat incidents made against local schools. Investigation is ongoing into these incidents.
- On November 21, the NOPD arrested Nicholas Miorana (black male, DOB: 12-07-1995) and obtained arrest warrants for Daniel Miorana (black male, DOB: 03-21-2003) and for Darrell Adams (black male, DOB: 07-09-2001) in its investigation of a homicide incident that occurred on November 21 in the 700 block of Iberville Street. Arrest warrants were obtained for all three suspects on one count each of second-degree murder and three counts of attempted second-degree murder.
Gun arrests (arrests made under LA RS 14:95 and sub-items)
Year to date, the NOPD has made 390 arrests for illegal possession of a firearm. This is a 44-percent decrease compared to 698 arrests made during the same period in 2023.
Gun seizures
Additionally, as of November 25, the NOPD in 2024 had seized 2,002 firearms in criminal investigations, a 21-percent decrease compared to 2,564 such seizures made during the same period in 2023.
