NOPD VOWS, U.S. Marshals Arrest Suspect in Fifth District Shooting Investigation

NOPD VOWS, U.S. Marshals Arrest Suspect in Fifth District Shooting Investigation

Today (November 3, 2022) the NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) and the U.S. Marshals arrested Edward Cager (black male, DOB: 09-09-1982), a wanted suspect in the investigation of a shooting that occurred on October 10, 2022, in the 1700 block of Deslonde Street.

VOWS and the U.S. Marshals located Cager and took him into custody without incident. NOPD Fifth District detectives then secured and executed a search warrant on Cager’s residence, where they located three rifles. Cager was found to be  a convicted felon currently on parole until 2031 for an attempted second-degree murder incident.

Cager was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on charges of aggravated battery by shooting and felon in possession of a firearm.
