NOPD Searching for Suspect and Vehicle Involved in Auto Theft with Child Inside

The NOPD is asking for assistance from the public in locating a vehicle involved in an auto theft and the suspects who stole that vehicle and then stole a truck with a child inside.

The first auto theft happened on October 23, 2022 in the 1200 block of Tulane Avenue.  A 2018 white Dodge Charger (pictured above) was reported stolen in the early morning.

A few hours later, the stolen Charger was seen entering the Lakeview area where an  unknown subject (pictured above) was seen exiting the Charger and then allegedly stealing another vehicle (truck) that was left unattended with a child inside at Fleur De Lis and 20th streets.

The truck was immediately located with the child found inside and unharmed.  The suspect, fled in the stolen Dodge Charger which has not yet been recovered.

The above photographed subject was observed exiting and re-entering the Dodge Charger prior to it relocating to the Third District.

If you have information on the above listed vehicle or subject, please call Third District detectives at 504-658-6030 or, if you wish to do so anonymously, contact CrimeStoppers at 504-822-1111
