The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a Homicide that left an 8-year-old male dead. The offense occurred shortly after 11:00 A.M., in the 3200 block of Second Street.
According to investigators, Sixth District officers responded to a call of a shooting and upon their arrival, officers located the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his body. Emergency Medical Technicians transported the victim to a local hospital where he later died.
Homicide and Child Abuse detectives are in the process of gathering information to identify the person responsible and a motive.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim and the exact cause of death.
