On November 11, 2022, the NOPD arrested David Williams (black male, DOB: 12-19-1990) on multiple firearm and narcotics charges.

At about 1:00 p.m., officers with Seventh District Auto Theft Unit and Fifth District were investigating the theft of a motor scooter that occurred on November 9 in the 800 block of Commerce Street. As officers arrived at the location, they located a scooter matching the description of the stolen vehicle and three subjects were seen in the driveway. One of the subjects fled on foot while officers detained one of the remaining subjects, identified as Williams, and placed him under arrest for being in possession of the scooter.

Further investigation revealed Williams to be in possession of multiple stolen vehicles, illegal narcotics, firearms and a large amount of U.S. currency.
