Listed below are significant arrests or clearances by warrant obtained by the NOPD between November 13-19, 2022, in criminal incidents and/or investigations:
Homicide
- On November 16, NOPD Fifth District officers arrested Kerry M. Reine Jr. (black male, DOB: 03-14-1990) on one count of second-degree murder. The arrest was made in connection with an incident that occurred on June 8, 2022, in the 1800 block of North Roman Street.
First District
- On November 15, NODP First District officers arrested Jarius Toca (black male, DOB: 05-12-2004) on one count each of auto theft and for illegal carrying of a weapon. The arrest was made in connection with an incident that occurred in the 1800 block of Touro Street.
Fourth District
- On November 13, NOPD Fourth District officers arrested Lawrence Robert (black male, DOB: 02-20-1989) on one count of illegal use of a weapon. The arrest was made in connection with an incident that occurred in the 7200 block of Paterson Drive.
- On November 13, NOPD Fourth District officers arrested a 16-year-old juvenile black male for illegal possession of stolen property. The arrest was made in connection with an incident that occurred in the 2000 block of Farragut Street.
- On November 14, NOPD Fourth District officers arrested Rinisha Tatum (black female, DOB: 07-27-1990) on one count of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The arrest was made in connection with an incident in the 1000 block of Baronne Street.
Fifth District
- On November 13, NOPD Fifth District officers arrested Jorey Weber (black male, DOB: 11-03-1989) on one count of illegal carrying of a concealed firearm by a convicted felon. The arrest was made in connection with an incident at the intersection of Saint Claude and Saint Anthony streets.
- On November 16, NOPD Fifth District officers arrested Herbert James (black male, DOB: 06-27-1990) on one count of illegal carrying of a concealed firearm. The arrest was made in connection with an incident in the 1100 block of France Street.
- On November 18, NOPD Fifth District officers arrested Timothy Couch (white male, DOB N/A) on one count each of simple burglary and possession of stolen property. The arrest was made in connection with an incident in the 1300 block of Elysian Fields Avenue.
- On November 18, NOPD Fifth District officers arrested Cornaella Williams (black female, DOB; 08-17-1980) on one count each of principle to attempted homicide and for aggravated battery. The arrest was made in connection with an incident on November 13, 2022, in the 600 block of Franklin Avenue.
Eighth District
- Between November 13-19, NOPD Eighth District officers arrested five suspects on illegal carrying of a firearm or related charges:
- On November 15, NOPD Eighth District officers arrested Sydney Bass (white male, DOB: 05-01-1986) on one count of aggravated assault. The arrest was made in connection with an incident at the intersection of Dauphine and Saint Louis streets.
- On November 17, NOPD Eighth District officers arrested Jimmy E. Deason (black male, DOB; 09-02-1960) on three counts of aggravated assault with a knife. The arrest was made in connection with an incident in the 1500 block of Sugar Bowl Drive.
- On November 16, NOPD Eighth District officers arrested Aaron C. Evans (black male, DOB: 07-02-1987) on one count of aggravated assault with a weapon. The arrest was made in connection with an incident at the intersection of Barracks and Decatur streets.
- On November 16, NOPD Eighth District officers arrested Trae V. Kinchen (black male, DOB: 09-04-2002) on one count of aggravated assault with a firearm. The arrest was made in connection with an incident at the intersection of Baronne and Union streets.
- On November 15, the NOPD arrested Christopher B. Richard (black male, DOB: 12-12-2003) on one count of armed robbery. The arrest was made in connection with an incident in the 1600 block of Perdido Street.
Other Units
- On November 15, members of NOPD’s Violent Crime Abatement and Intelligence Team arrested Keyonisha Burbank (black female, DOB; 01-19-1998), Rakeem Kenner (black male, DOB: 12-31-2000) and Jodie Davis (black male, DOB: 02-02-1999). Each was charged with one count of illegal possession of a firearm, possession of stolen things and illegal possession of narcotics. The arrests were made in the 3000 block of Dauphine Street.
- On November 15, members of the NOPD’s Violent Crime Abatement and Intelligence Team arrested Kyla Williams (black female, DOB: 11-15-2002) and Deniro Alexander (black male, DOB; 05-16-2002). Each was charged with one count of illegal possession of a firearm, possession of stolen things and illegal possession of narcotics. The arrests were made in the 400 block of Josephine Street.
