NOPD, U.S. Marshals Announce Results of Violent Crime Arrest Operation

This past Friday (November 18, 2022), the NOPD along with the U.S. Marshals Service and several other federal, state and local law enforcement partners finished Operation Washout New Orleans.

The operation targeted some of the area’s most dangerous and violent fugitives.

Beginning on October 31, the 12-day operation resulted in 29 wanted violent offenders being removed from the streets of the city. These individuals are accused of crimes including homicide, armed robbery, carjacking, aggravated assault and sex offenses.

Also, in total, the operation seized 19 firearms, $13,000 in cash, and around 464 grams of narcotics.

“I want to thank the US Marshals Service and all of our federal and state partners who participated in this operation,” NOPD Superintendent Shaun Ferguson said. “Removing violent offenders from our community and keeping them off the streets is vital to making our city a safer place to live and visit.”
