NOPD Investigates Homicide on North Prieur Street

NOPD Investigates Homicide on North Prieur Street

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that claimed the life of a female victim.

At around 11:28 p.m. (Nov. 19), Fifth District officers responded to calls of shots fired in the 3800 block of North Prieur Street. Upon arrival, officers located a female victim lying on the ground outside the location and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead on scene by EMS.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.

No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
