NOPD Investigates Fifth District Homicide

NOPD Investigates Fifth District Homicide

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that claimed the life of an adult male Monday night.

 

Fifth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting at around 11:55 p.m. in the 2300 block of St. Anthony Street.

 

Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

 

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.

No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
