NOPD Identifies Suspect in Homicide on Pauger Street

The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Javonte Thomas (DOB: 02-09-1998) in connection with a fatal double shooting that occurred on May 31, 2017 in the 3000 block of Pauger Street.

At around 6:15 p.m., Fifth District officers responded to an aggravated battery by shooting in the 3000 block of Pauger Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds inside of a vehicle. One victim was transported to the hospital by EMS while a second victim died from his injuries on scene.

As investigation into the incident proceeded, detectives were able to positively identify Thomas as a suspect.

When located, Thomas will be arrested for first degree murder in connection with this incident.
