Suspect Wanted for Theft, Criminal Trespassing at Home Depot

The NOPD is looking for Paul Stewart (DOB: 12/30/1961) after he attempted to take more than $200 dollars worth of items from The Home Depot.

The incident happened on November 4, 2016. Stewart was seen entering the store in the 12300 block of South I-10 Service Road with a black bag. He was then seen on surveillance video placing a Ryobi 18 volt battery, Dewalt drywall attachment and aRidgid compact router in his black bag. An employee, who recognized Stewart from a previous theft incident, noticed that Stewart was trying to leave the store through the garden section without purchasing the merchandise. However, the employee was able to escort Stewart to the Asset Protection office where he refused to wait for police. He was then seen walking out to the store.

Once located, Stewart will be arrested for criminal trespassing, theft and a municipal attachment.

If you know the whereabouts of Paul Stewart, please contact any Seventh District detective at 504-658-6070. Citizens with information that can help solve a crime are asked to call Crimestoppers at  504-822-1111 or toll-free 1-877-903-STOP.
