UPDATED: NOPD Investigates Homicide near South Jefferson Davis Parkway

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred in the 300 block of South Jefferson Davis Parkway. NOPD has learned that the victim's vehicle was not stolen during the incident, so no carjacking incident was involved in the investigation.

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred in the 300 block of South Jefferson Davis Parkway.

At around midnight, First District officers responded to multiple calls of shots fired in the area. When officers arrived, they observed an unknown male lying in the middle of the street suffering from multiple gunshots along South Jefferson Davis Parkway. The victim was pronounced dead on scene by EMS. Through the course of the investigation, police believe the shooting started at the victim’s home in the 3200 block of Palmyra Street and ended in the 300 block of South Jefferson Davis Parkway.

The victim’s vehicle was also taken from the area during the incident. The vehicle is described as a 2015, silver 4-door Infiniti with a Louisiana license plate of WXG810. 

No further information is available at the moment.

The Coroner’s office will release the victim’s identity and the official cause of death.
