NOPD Arrests Suspect in Armed Robbery, Attempted Armed Robbery on Halloween Night

NOPD Arrests Suspect in Armed Robbery, Attempted Armed Robbery on Halloween Night

Brice Perez (DOB: 3-31-1996) who was responsible for committing an armed robbery and an attempted armed robbery, along with several other crimes over the past months is off the street today (Nov. 12) after police arrested him last night during a citywide search. Acting on information gathered by Fourth district detectives, officers assigned to the TIGER Unit tracked down and arrested Perez around 8:00 p.m., in the 3500 block of Garden Oaks Drive.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified Perez as the suspect in the following incidents:

•Illegal Possession of Stolen Things and Aggravated Flight from an Officer reported on November 3 at Marr Avenue and Old Behrman Highway. Perez was observed by Housing Authority of New Orleans (HANO) officers driving a stolen silver Infinity G37. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop but Perez refused to stop.

•Armed Robbery reported on October 31, in the 3700 block of Red Oak Court. The female victim was approached by an armed black male suspect who demanded her car keys and fled in her silver Infinity G37;

•Attempted Armed Robbery reported on October 31, in the 3900 block of South Post Oak Avenue. The male victim was approached by an armed black male suspect who just exited a light color Nissan Altima. The suspect demanded the victim’s vehicle. The victim refused to give up his vehicle and the suspect fled;

•Auto Theft reported on October 23 in the 3400 block of Garden Oaks Drive. The male victim parked his tan Nissan Altima and went inside a residence. The next day he discovered his vehicle missing.  Perez confessed to stealing the vehicle

•Simple Criminal Damage and Illegal Use of a Weapon reported on June 19 at Garden Oaks Drive and Seine Street. Perez was positively identified as a suspect responsible for illegally shooting a firearm in the area;

Detective have identified Parez as a suspect in an additional incidents. All of the investigations are on-going. The Fourth and Fifth Police District as well as the TIGER Unit (Tactical Intelligence Gathering and Enforcement Response) and HANO Police are working collaboratively on the on-going investigations.
