NOPD Arrests Suspect for Possession of Crystal Meth and a Stolen Firearm

NOPD Seventh District officers quickly arrested Franklin Yax (DOB: 7/4/1963) today (Nov.4) for possessing crystal meth and a stolen gun.

At about 2:30 p.m., Seventh District officers started receiving multiple calls of a suspicious white male walking around with a large firearm near I-510 and Lake Forest Boulevard.  When officers arrived, they discovered Yax in the area sitting inside a vehicle with a large firearm next to him. As the subject started exiting the vehicle, officers also observed a second concealed firearm in the arrested subject’s pocket.  Through the course of the investigation, officer learned one of the firearms was reported stolen from St. Tammany Parish. At that time, Yax was placed under arrest for possession of a stolen firearm.

As officers were apprehending Yax, they also discovered a small bag of what appeared to be crystal meth. 

Yax was booked into Central Lockup for possession of crystal meth and a stolen firearm.
