Armed Robbery Suspect Caught on Video on Dreux Avenue

Armed Robbery Suspect Caught on Video on Dreux Avenue

NOPD is looking for an armed robbery suspect in connection to an incident that occurred yesterday (Nov. 2).

 

A little after 5 p.m., the victim reported that he and two friends were walking in the 2600 block of Dreux Avenue when they were approached by an unknown black male. The suspect spoke to the victim, asking him if he was going to fight his brother, and the victim responded “No” and continued walking eastbound on Dreux. The victim noticed the suspect following them then ducking into an alley. The suspect reappeared, pulled a weapon from his waistband and pointed it at the ground. He then grabbed the victim’s phone as well as his friends’ phones and fled the scene.

Armed Robbery

In Louisiana, an armed robbery conviction requires the offender to be imprisoned at hard labor for 10 – 99 years, without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. When a firearm is used in the commission of the crime, the offender will be imprisoned for an additional 5 years that will be served consecutively to the original sentence.
