NOPD Investigating Homicide in Seventh District

The NOPD is investigating a homicide by cutting in the Seventh District that occurred on May 13, 2025.

At about 4:00 p.m., officers were called to a stabbing in the 9800 block of Morrison Road.  Upon arrival, they discovered that the victim, a juvenile male, suffering from multiple stab wounds to the body.  The vicim was taken to the hospital by NOEMS.

He was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. Through the investigation, detectives determined that the juvenile victim and his juvenile brother were involved in an altercation that led to the perpetrator retriving a knife and stabbing the victim multiple times. The family intervened and called for police and EMS.

The juvenile male perpetrator was apprehended without incident on scene and was charged with second-degree murder. The juvenile male perpetrator was also transported to a local area hospital where he was treated for minor injuries sustained during the altercation. 

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will release the victim's name at a later time.
