The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred on the evening of May 14, 2025, in the 4500 block of Dodt Avenue, in the Seventh District.

At about 11:21 p.m., NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a call of a shooting at the location. Upon arrival, officers locating a male subject in front of a residence and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. EMS arrived on scene and subsequently pronounced the victim deceased.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death and to identify the deceased victim officially. Announcement of this information will come from the Coroner’s Office.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information. No additional details are currently available.
