NOPD Seeking Vehicle Stolen in Armed Robbery Incident in First District

The NOPD is seeking assistance in locating a vehicle reported stolen in an armed robbery incident on May 23, 2022, in the 2200 block of Columbus Street.

At about 7:50 p.m., the victim had reportedly parked his vehicle – the pictured 2017 Jeep Wrangler Sport bearing Louisiana license place 423CAO – in the 2200 block of Columbus and began to approach a friend’s residence. As he did so, two unknown black male subjects – one reportedly wearing a black ski mask and armed with a gun, and the other wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and unarmed – approached the victim and demanded his keys. The victim did not comply, at which point the armed suspect allegedly took the keys from the victim’s pocket. The suspects then reportedly entered the victim’s vehicle and fled.

Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to contact NOPD First District detectives at 504-658-6010 or call anonymously to Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans at 504-822-1111 or toll-free 1-877-903-STOP.
