NOPD Investigates Homicide on North Claiborne Avenue

 NOPD Investigates Homicide on North Claiborne Avenue

The NOPD is investigating a homicide that claimed the life of one man in the 1400 block of North Claiborne Avenue.

On May 26, 2019, First District officers responded to an aggravated battery by shooting around 11:55 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered one male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead on scene by EMS.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name and official cause of death, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family. There are no additional details available at this time.
