NOPD Investigates Homicide, Shooting on Saint Anthony Street

The NOPD is investigating a fatal shooting that left one victim dead and another victim injured in the Fifth District.

On May 26, 2019 around 10 p.m., Fifth District officers responded to an aggravated battery by shooting in the 2200 block of Saint Anthony Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered one adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead on scene by EMS.

A second female victim was also discovered at the scene suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital to receive treatment for her injury.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name and official cause of death, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family. There are no additional details available at this time.
