NOPD Investigating Shooting on St. Claude Avenue That Injured Five Victims

The NOPD is investigating a shooting this morning (May 1, 2018) in the 3200 block of St. Claude Avenue that left five people injured.

At about 12:46 a.m., NOPD Fifth District officers received a call of shots fired in the area. Upon arrival, officers discovered three victims in the area suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported via EMS to an area hospital for treatment.

Officers later learned that two additional victims in this incident arrived at an area hospital separately via private conveyance for treatment of gunshot wounds.

One of the victims, identified as a male with a gunshot wound to the back, was reported to be in critical condition.

No further details are available in this investigation at this time.
