NOPD Arrests Suspect for Illegal Possession of Concealed Firearm

The NOPD arrested Andre Jackson (DOB: 05-09-1998) on April 28, 2018 after he was found to be in illegal possession of a concealed firearm.

At about 11:50 a.m., NOPD Eighth District Bourbon Street Promenade Unit officers were on foot patrol in the 400 block of Bourbon Street when they received a call from a security employee of a bar in the area that he was in possession of a handgun that belonged to an unknown male, later identified as Jackson. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the security officer, who said that Jackson had allegedly approached him asking if he could have a loaded handgun in the establishment. When Jackson allegedly revealed the gun to be in his waistband, the reporting person immediately grabbed the gun and called for police assistance. Officers then located Jackson inside of the establishment and placed him under arrest.

Jackson was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for illegal carrying of a firearm.

Anyone with additional info on this incident is asked to contact Eighth District officers at 504-658-6080.
