Suspect Wanted for Robbing Victim with Knife on Canal Street

The NOPD is looking for an unknown male subject after he robbed a victim with a knife.

The incident happened on May 11, 2017. The victim told police he and a friend were walking on Canal Street when they were approached by an unknown man with a knife.  At approximately 8:50 p.m., the unknown subject in the above photo was captured on video surveillance fleeing the area after committing the armed robbery where he used a knife.  After the incident, the unknown subject fled with the victim’s wallet, passport and bus pass. He was seen running down Common Street toward Magazine Street and then in an unknown direction.

The subject is described as a black male, slim build, low haircut. He was seen wearing a red cut off shirt, light blue jeans, red shoes and what appears to be a white scarf wrapped around his left hand.
