NOPD Investigates Fatal Double Shooting on Pauger Street

NOPD Investigates Fatal Double Shooting on Pauger Street

The NOPD is investigating a double shooting that left one man dead and a second one injured this evening (May 31, 2017).

At around 6:15 p.m., Fifth District officers responded to an aggravated battery by shooting in the 3000 block of Pauger Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds inside of a vehicle. One victim was transported to the hospital by EMS while a second victim died from his injuries on scene.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.

No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
