NOPD Investigating Homicide in Seventh District

Members of the New Orleans Police Department are investigating a Homicide that left two 20- year-old men dead and also left a 20-year-old man and an unknown man injured. The names of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of family members. The offense occurred at the intersection of Hayne Boulevard and Vincent Street.

According to investigators, shortly before 5:00 P.M., Seventh District officers responded to a call of a shooting and upon their arrival located three 20-year-old men suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to their bodies. Emergency Medical Technicians pronounced one of the men dead on scene. Two victims were transported to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries. A fourth victim was transported to the hospital via private conveyance.

Detectives are in the process of gathering information to identify the person(s) responsible and a motive.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victims and official causes of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
