The NOPD is investigating a homicide in the 3000 block of Eagle Street that occurred on March 26, 2022, that left one person dead.
According to investigators, Second District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting at about 7:37 p.m. UIon their arrival, officers located a 31-year old man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his body. EMS transported the victim to a local hospital, where he later died.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victims and official causes of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
