Suspect Arrested in Fourth District Shooting

The NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad and the U.S. Marshals arrested Leon Darrelle Scott (pictured, DOB: 07-01-1992) in the investigation of an aggravated battery by shooting that occurred on March 17, 2020 in the 2200 block of Cobblestone Lane.

At approximately 3:00 p.m., Scott was allegedly involved in an argument with the victim regarding a Bluetooth speaker. During the argument, Scott reportedly relocated to his vehicle, retrieved a firearm and fired several shots at the victim, striking the victim.

As investigation into the incident progressed, Scott was apprehended on March 25 in St. Bernard Parish by NOPD VOWS and the U.S. Marshals. Scott was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for aggravated second degree battery.
