NOPD Searching for Gun Stolen in Eighth District Auto Burglary

The NOPD is seeking to locate a handgun reported stolen during a vehicle burglary that occurred on February 25, 2020.

At or about 12:30 a.m., a black Smith & Wesson .40 caliber handgun with serial number FXB5976 was stolen from a vehicle parked at the intersection of Barracks and French Market streets in the Eighth District. In the commission of this burglary, the passenger side window of the victim’s vehicle was shattered and the gun was stolen from the vehicle’s center console.

For reference purposes, a photo is included of a firearm similar in color, make and model to the firearm reported stolen.
