The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred Saturday morning (February 29, 2020) in the Third District that left one victim dead.
At or around 11:36 a.m., Third District officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 2100 block of Abundance Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead on scene.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive. There are no further details available at this time.
The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine the official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
