NOPD Investigates Homicide, Double Shooing on North Tonti Street

The NOPD is investigating a shooting that claimed the life of one man and injured two others in the Fifth District.

On Saturday, February 29, 2020 around 4:45 p.m., Fifth District officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 2000 block of North Tonti Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered three adult males suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to an area hospital to receive treatment for their injuries. One of the victims succumbed to their injuries at a local hospital.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine the official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
