Commander Stevens recounts one of the most memorable experiences he shared with Chief Noel. The officers received a call of a carjacking incident in the area while grabbing a bite to eat at a local drive-thru. Moments later while sitting in the drive-thru,  the officers encountered the vehicle that was reported missing in the carjacking incident. Both officers immediately took off in a pursuit to arrest the suspect. The suspect was apprehended and transported to Central Lock-up.

Chief Noel and Commander Stevens took on leadership positions after years of being with the NOPD. Chief Noel and Commander Stevens said though it’s a lot of responsibility, being an NOPD officer is one the greatest things in the world.

Chief Noel shares an encouraging message with officers who aspire to be in his position one day. "When I came on the job as a 21-year-old kid, I had no idea that I would ever be in this position. But If you work hard, value your partnerships within the police department and value your partnerships in the community, you'll be fine."
