NOPD Searching for Stolen Vehicle, Suspects in Armed Carjacking in Third District

The NOPD is searching for a vehicle reported stolen during an armed carjacking incident on March 9, 2018 at the intersection of Music and Treasure streets, as well as for three suspects believed responsible for the incident.

At about 3:26 p.m., the victim was driving her gray 2004 four-door Gray Nissan Maxima bearing Louisiana license plate YHW827 near the intersection when she came to stop behind the perpetrators’ black vehicle. While both cars were stopped, two unknown black males exited the perpetrator’s vehicle, one of which was reportedly armed with a handgun. The driver of the perpetrator’s vehicle remained inside while the robbery occurred. The armed subject approached the victim on the driver’s side, while the other perpetrator stood in front of the victim’s vehicle. While pointing the firearm at the victim, the armed subject demanded the victim to exit her vehicle. The victim complied before both unknown subjects entered her vehicle and fled the scene behind the perpetrators’ vehicle.

The two visible suspects were both described as black males between the ages of 20 and 22 years old, both standing about 6’0” with slender builds. The armed subject was further described as wearing a gray and white handkerchief on his face with a red, white and gray T-shirt. The driver of the suspect vehicle was not visible.
