The NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred on Thursday, March 15 in the 1300 block of Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard.
Sixth District officers responded to a call of a shooting incident at or about 6:50 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered one adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to the body.
The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
During the investigation, officers learned that the victim was riding a bicycle in the area when he was approached by an unknown vehicle, at which time shots were fired, striking the victim multiple times.
Investigators are searching for person(s) involved in this incident as well as a motive.
