NOPD Investigates Fifth District Double Homicide

NOPD Investigates Fifth District Double Homicide

The NOPD Homicide Unit is investigating a double homicide that claimed the life of a male and female victim.


Fifth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting at around 5 p.m. near the intersection of  St. Claude Avenue and St. Claude Court.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the two victims suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside a vehicle.


Both victims were treated by EMS but pronounced dead on the scene


Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.

No further information is available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
