Weekly Arrests Round-Up: March 20 – 26, 2017

NOPD officers made multiple arrests last week including suspects wanted in connection with such violent offenses such as homicide, rape, aggravated battery, assault and robbery. Officers also confiscated six firearms. 

 

March 20

Terry Files (DOB: 12-26-90) for Illegal carrying of firearm and narcotics. Files was in possession of a 9mm firearm, 66 ecstasy pills, 130 grams of marijuana, a scale, and currency. He was apprehended during a traffic stop at the intersection of Martin Drive and Coventry Street.

 

 

March 22

Daniel Carter (DOB: 11/14/1993) for second degree murder and attempted second murder. The incident took place on January 9, 2017, in the 2500 block of New York Street and Carter was arrested in Hammond, LA. 

 

Jeremy Francis (DOB:  12/14/1995) for aggravated assault with a firearm and criminal damage to property. Francis was apprehended in Gretna, LA, for this incident, which occurred on February 16, 2017, in the 4600 block of Herschel Street.

 

Jerry Duplessis (DOB: 7/13/1985) for burglary and resisting an officer. The incident occurred in the 10500 block of Curran Boulevard on March 14, 2017. Duplessis was apprehended in the 6000 block of Downman Road. (photo not available)

 

 

March 23

Osai Bailey (DOB: 5/18/1982) for simple robbery, assault, and battery.  The incident occurred at the intersection of S. Liberty Street and Jackson Avenue, on March 19, 2017. Bailey was apprehended in the 3600 block of Jefferson Highway in Jefferson Parish. (photo not available)

 

Nathaniel Brown (DOB:  4/16/91) for second degree murder. Brown was arrested in the 2600 block of Pauger Street, and the incident took place in the 4800 block of Longfellow Drive on August 18, 2016. He was also wanted in Jefferson Parish for illegal carrying of a weapon, felon w/ firearm and resisting arrest. Officers also recovered a .40 caliber handgun.

 

March 24

Tevis Hankerson (DOB2/28/1998) for aggravated battery by shooting.  The incident took place at the intersection of JoAnn Place and Lawrence Street on March 22, 2017. Hankerson was also arrested for possession of four handguns, including two that were stolen, as well as a probation violation and a court capias violation. He was apprehended in the 3200 block of Columbus Street.

 

Bryan Rogers (DOB: 9/18/1985) for second degree murder. The incident took place at the intersection of Loyola Street and Foucher Street on November 11, 2016. Rogers was arrested in Sacramento, CA. (photo not available)

 

 

NOPD also arrested a juvenile who was wanted for first degree rape. The incident occurred in the 1600 block of N. Tonti Street, on March 6, 2017. He was apprehended in the 2700 block of Lawrence Street.
