VOWS Unit Apprehends Two More Wanted Individuals

The NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) and U.S. Marshals apprehended two more wanted individuals yesterday.

 

Nathaniel Brown, Jr. (DOB:  4/16/91) for second degree murder. Brown was arrested in the 2600 block of Pauger Street.  The incident involved the shooting death of Don Minor inside a residence in the 4800 block of Longfellow Drive on August 18, 2016. Brown was also wanted in Jefferson Parish for illegal carrying of a weapon, being a felon with a firearm and resisting arrest. Officers also recovered a .40 caliber handgun.

 

Osai Bailey (DOB: 5/18/1982) for simple robbery, assault, and battery. The incident occurred at the intersection of South Liberty Street and Jackson Avenue, on March 19, 2017. Bailey was apprehended in the 3600 block of Jefferson Highway in Jefferson Parish. (no photo available)

The Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) is responsible for tracking down individuals who are wanted for serious crimes and apprehending suspects with outstanding warrants. This unit operates within the NOPD’s Special Operations Division and works in conjunction with the United States Marshals Office Fugitive Task Force. In 2016 the unit was responsible from more than 500 arrests.
