Suspect Wanted for Theft on Tchoupitoulas Street

Officers in the Sixth District are searching for the pictured subject after he was observed removing the victim’s property from his shopping cart before exiting the store.

On Monday, June 18, 2018, at or around 8:40 p.m., the victim was shopping at Walmart, located in the 1900 block of Tchoupitoulas Street. The victim told police he left his cell phone and wallet inside his shopping cart while walking around the store. Upon returning to his shopping cart, the victim discovered his cell phone and wallet were missing.

During the investigation, officers reviewed surveillance video from the business and observed the subject reaching into the victim’s shopping cart and taking the victim’s property before fleeing the scene.

The suspect is described as an older white male, with long hair, wearing a black t-shirt, grey shorts and sandals, and carrying a blue back pack.
